Embracing change: How COVID-19 is stirring us in a new direction
Dear readers,
When we started out on our journey at the beginning of 2020, we had no clue what lay ahead for the tourism industry. It was like the quiet before the storm…
At Traveloguide, we are a team of three travellers curious to share experiences of our fellow travel enthusiasts. We developed content that informed and inspired our readers. Through our posts, we offered tools that helped readers plan their next trip: in-depth information on destinations; inspiring ideas and places to visit, do’s and don’ts.
Just as we were beginning to make a small difference to people’s travelling experience, COVID-19 struck. Nations went into lockdown and life came to a standstill. Since most of us are consumed by wanderlust, the sudden breakout of the pandemic created a deep sense of despair amongst us. Forced to stay indoors, all we could do was hope the pandemic passed.
Despite global travel restrictions, we continued to follow our theme, providing readers with regular information. We were hoping that the virus wouldn’t survive for too long, and that life would be back on track soon.
We were wrong. Leading experts have concluded that COVID-19 is here to stay, at least for some time. We understand that even when the restrictions are lifted, most people would prefer not to travel as a precautionary measure.
In light of these unprecedented developments, we realised that our existing model will serve no purpose for the near future. Evolving into something more meaningful, in keeping with the times, is the future.
Going forward, we will focus more on the challenges travellers are faced with during COVID-19. Many people continue to remain stranded in different parts of the world due to travel restrictions. Most of them are enduring financial and mental issues. In a few regions of the world, a stranded person faces greater challenges than he would in another. How does he deal with it? This is only one area of concern.
A complete rundown on the significance of immunity certificate, negative certificate, essential travel, sustainable travel, screening procedures at different airports, the importance of digital contact tracing app while travelling etc. will bring awareness among people.
We believe this change in approach is best suited to the present scenario. We also hope that our content will provide possible solutions to the various problems that COVID-19 has inflicted upon us.
