In a post-pandemic world, travel businesses will have to work year round to fetch revenues even closer to pre-Covid levels. Since convincing customers via a face to face customer interaction is not plausible at the moment, travel media firms are switching to virtual events. One way to reach out potential customers is to be a part of the ReConnect Virtual Expo. Aiming to adjust to the ‘new normal’, global travel firms are participating in a virtual travel expo by ReConnect, which is scheduled to take place today.

ReConnect is a platform that is helping over 3000 travel industry professionals to discuss ways to resume both domestic and international travel. If you are running a business in the travel and hospitality sector, you must keepa check on such virtual events as they will help your buyers know that you are following all safety protocols.

The Reconnect Virtual Expo is being sponsored by India’s travel B2B exhibitors — OTM (Outbound Travel Mart) and BLTM (Business+Leisure Travel Mice) and will be virtually hosted today. Since the event will be attended by dignitaries from various countries, participants will gain knowledge about the existing tourism trends.

As per sources, the virtual session will begin with the keynote address on Reconnect and Restart Tourism and will be delivered by Chairman of Fairfest Media — Sanjiv Agarwal, who is also the Editor and Publisher of Travel News Digest. Premium partner countries of the event include Mauritius Tourism Protection Authority and Kenya Tourism Board. Meanwhile, Tourism Fiji and Spain Tourism will be the official partners.

Sources have revealed that Frankfurt Tourism, Zagreb Tourist Board and Visit Brussels will be present as Feature Destinations for the first time. Besides several Indian states, countries like Azerbaijan, Belgium, Ethiopia, Japan, Kenya, Germany, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Thailand, Maldives, Singapore, Mauritius will also be represented at the event.

Using the AI-powered smart matchmaking tool, sellers will be able to contact potential buyers for digital networking at ReConnect Virtual Expo. With the participation of nearly 500 destinations from 18 countries, the event will be a great platform for travel agents. Leaders from Lonely Planet, Travelstop, Thomas Cook, Genesys Digital will be discussing travel in post-Covid world.

Kenya’s Tourism Board has registered more than 10 travel trade members including tour operators and hoteliers for the exhibition. Since India is among Kenya’s top five tourists source markets, it is hoping to woo travellers from the Asia-Pacific region after this exhibit.

With the help of online exhibitions like the ReConnect Virtual Expo, travel industry can work to rebound the tourism sector to pre-Covid times much sooner than expected.
