TripAdvisor’s Travel Safety Rules Tool to Boost Travellers Confidence Amid Pandemic

Travel restrictions across the world have severely impacted the active-user community of the world’s largest travel platform TripAdvisor. Since many people are not confident about planning trips, the company’s revenues have suffered a major blow as majority of its revenue and profits come from click-based advertising in TripAdvisor’s hotels and platform segment.

In order to help users feel more confident while making future travel choices across the world, TripAdvisor has come up with a new suite of Travel Safe Rules Tool. With this tool consumer can find, filter for and validate health and safety information. The Travel Safe features are easily accessible in all 49 markets where the company operates.

More than 13,850 properties have already activated the feature set. Based on travel analysts, most travellers are prioritising cleanliness or sanitisation certificates while booking a travel experience. Almost 79% people consider it important to publically display compliance to government safety standards.

TripAdvisor’s Travel Safety Rules Tool will enable hotels and restaurant owners to share safety directly on the firm’s listing. These include sanitisation procedures, social distancing policies and mask-wearing guidelines. A search filter helps users to find hotels and restaurant that are taking these added safety precautions.

The Travel Safety Rules Tool includes a new review submission form that permits users to validate safety measures and share their personal experiences with others. A special Q&A with the business owners will help users to get all answers to their safety related queries.

Several companies including Makemytrip, Easemytrip, Cleartrip and Ixigo are planning to improve their range of deals for holiday bookings and introduce new credit products for travellers. As domestic travel will be the first to revive, travel inquiries and bookings are mostly related to travelling to remote locations.

As per the Senior Vice President of Cleartrip — Balu Ramachandran, both domestic and international travel might revive in three phases. The first phase will initiate emergency one-way travel trends via personal vehicles. Second phase will witness short trips within the city limits and the third phase will encourage people to travel within “bubbles”.

The coming of TripAdvisor’s Travel Safety Rules Tool will surely help customers confidently book their future trips even though the recovery of tourism sector will happen in phases.
