The current situation of our planet clearly highlights the need to levy special focus on the need to make serious changes to our travelling choices. Not many of us think about travelling to eco-friendly countries while planning our trips. Several countries in Europe are viewed as great holiday destinations as they encouraging green travel.   1. Denmark

Known as the greenest city in the world, Copenhagen in Denmark has sustainability as its foremost agenda. The energy efficient city is aiming to become the first carbon neutral capital by 2025. Despite being a small country in Europe, Luxembourg’s 20 percent forest cover can be a visual treat for all nature loving travellers out there. Hotels, campsites and lodges in the country that offer exemplary ecological management and follow sustainable environment friendly practices (like waste reduction, water saving, recycling) have a special ‘eco label’. 4. Switzerland

If you have an ardent desire to travel to clean and safe places that offer scenic greenery, Switzerland is your place! France has been historically been leading the eco-friendly projects and regulations to meet its environmental goals. France has taken initiative to tackle plastic pollution by implementing ‘bonus manus’ cost system. According to this system, the price of the sustainably packaged products could be decreased by up to 10% while the price of items packed in non- recycled plastics could be increased up to 10%. This has been done to discourage the use of non- recyclable plastic packaging. Many other initiatives have also been taken by the country to make travel more sustainable

Eco- Tourism have been constantly rising in popularity because of many reasons. These countries have stepped-up their game and differentiated themselves from the rest. Their initiative to preserve the environment while promoting travel have gained a lot of popularity.
